    It’s a shame that the 7pm class has been scrapped so early.
    It was made very clear that it was for ‘elites’ only so I’m not sure how you could have expected a large class.

      Thanks for the feedback Kat, I was expecting some reaction. However, this is not the knee-jerk reaction it may at first appear to be.
      Firstly, the term “elite” was never mentioned. It was made clear that the type of member it was aimed at is the person who is looking to train for competitive purposes, is independently capable of managing a challenging workout and has a high degree of application. It was also made clear that the session would only continue if the numbers justified it.
      In the past two years we have trialled a number of different session options and persisted with them when it was clear from very early on that it was a doomed cause, only to scrap them later on. Apart from the low numbers in attendance tonight I have had very few people talk to me about the sessions which also indicates to me that there simply isn’t the interest for this at the moment. A similar trend to the other sessions that have been trialled and subsequently cancelled. The sessions that we have have added over time that are still running with good numbers usually get a strong positive response even before we officially introduce them into the timetable.
      We will be approaching the “competitive” element from a different angle, one that we hope will be more accessible to the whole membership, not just the few people who are able to make it to a limited time slot once or twice a week. In the end I believe it will be a better, more inclusive option and produce better results.
      Exciting times ahead!
