Thanks to Kat Mons for giving up another four hours today to finish the Wall Ball lines and Steve Kellner for his time and effort extending the Pull-Up rig.
I didn’t intend this to be an extended post but as the gym nears completion and while we’re on the topic it’s hard not to mention others that have contributed to the improvement of the gym in recent days (and some over a number of years now) that we would like to recognise for their efforts: all of our fantastic staff; the wonderful team of helpers who turned out for the working bee on Sunday, you know who you are and we appreciate it enormously as you all worked so hard at seemingly endless tedious tasks; Sue Shaw for the artwork in the entrance; Trent Leggatt for the sound system, website design and maintenance and general muscle when heavy things need lifting; Dan Mons and Christian Unger for their continuing technical support that keeps me sane; Camo and Scharfy for their carpentry skills; Michael Green for his donations of equipment and providing skilled construction assistance; and Shane Sawyer for the new rigs.
A few people deserve a special mention: Brendan Barber for the original pull-up rigs and plyo boxes and so many other odds and ends that got us off the ground.
Adam Magill and Jack Lukis have helped us personally in too many ways to mention and have been incredibly generous with their support for the gym and the members.
Finally, for the moment at least, John (“Phantom”) Pidgeon. This man goes about his business so quietly he lives up to his nick name time and again. Among the many things we can thank him for: the front stairs, the walls, plyo boxes, barbell maintenance, snatch blocks and rubber tiles, air conditioners, platforms and general practical skills all around the gym that I lack in abundance.
Wow, that went on for much longer than I meant it to and I have no doubt missed a few people for which they will no doubt make me feel terribly guilty, but hey, I’ve missed most of the origin to type all that.

CFK has so many amazing members as mentioned in your post who all do the things they do because of the extra amazing community you and April and all your fantastic staff have and continue to create at CrossFit King ????

Posted at 22:58h, 09 JulyCheers Sue. Of course none of it would happen if it wasn’t for all of our members, so thanks to all of you for turning up and giving us a gym to paint, and paint, and paint…and vacuum, and vacuum….

Posted at 22:33h, 09 JulyI’m not too keen on pic’s of me holding a vacuum cleaner going public, I’ve always told Julie I don’t know how they work.
